The Old Ranch was a real place
The Old Ranch was more than a home, it was a world of its own, and the place we visited and where my Dad and his cousins grew up. There were the comforting smells of baking and home-cooked meals drifting through the house, the warmth of the old fireplace, and an orchard filled with fruit trees.
Beyond the garden, a stream offered endless adventures, swimming on warm days, catching eels, and watching ducks and geese wander nearby. Old gum trees and pine trees stood tall, sheltering a childhood filled with care, love, family, hard work, happiness and discovery.
These are the memories that make The Old Ranch so special, a place where the ordinary became treasured, and where the stories of one generation can still inspire the next.
